On May 5–6, 2026, representatives of the Baku Stock Exchange participated in an educational business visit to the Karabakh region organized by the Azerbaijan Capital Market Participants Association (AKBA). The visit was held with the organizational partnership of the Karabakh Training Center and the support of Karabakh University.

The primary objective of the visit was to strengthen awareness of capital markets in the region, promote financial literacy, increase young people’s interest in investment and capital markets, and facilitate the exchange of ideas with local entrepreneurs.

On the first day of the program, participants became closely acquainted with the activities and infrastructure of Karabakh University, while discussions on potential future cooperation were held during a meeting with the university’s management.

Subsequently, a panel discussion titled “Capital Markets in a Changing World” was held at the university. Moderated by Orkhan Baghirov, the panel featured speeches by Matin Yolchiyev, Member of the Management Board and Chief Operations Officer of the Baku Stock Exchange; Mushfig Ahmadli, Advisor to the Chairman of the Management Board of the National Depository Center; Nadir Babazade, Chief Executive Officer of ABB-Invest Investment Company; and Talat Kalayev, Director of Unicapital Investment Company.

During the discussions, participants exchanged views on the impact of global economic developments on capital markets, investment instruments, IPO processes, the advancement of financial technologies, and the future prospects of capital markets in Azerbaijan.

Following the official program, participants joined a familiarization tour of Khankendi and later met with representatives of local businesses and participants from the financial sector.

On the second day of the visit, participants traveled to Shusha, where they became acquainted with the ongoing reconstruction and restoration efforts, historical and cultural heritage sites, and the region’s development prospects.

For the Baku Stock Exchange, expanding educational initiatives related to capital markets, promoting financial literacy, and supporting the development of investment culture in the regions remain among our key priorities.
