Rector of Baku State University (BSU) Elchin Babayev participated in the panel session titled “New Horizons in Research Collaboration” as part of the QS Higher Ed Summit: Europe 2026, held in Budapest, Hungary.
In his remarks, Rector Elchin Babayev emphasized that in today’s world, research collaboration is no longer merely an option but a necessity. He noted that global challenges such as climate change, energy security, digital transformation, and healthcare can only be effectively addressed through international partnerships and the exchange of knowledge.
The Rector stressed that international research cooperation should not only contribute to the advancement of global science but also support national development priorities, including innovation, green energy, artificial intelligence, and human capital development. He highlighted that BSU’s international projects focus on conducting joint research, facilitating knowledge exchange, and achieving shared scientific outcomes.
Concluding his speech, Elchin Babayev emphasized that the universities most likely to succeed in the future will be those capable of effectively combining artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies with human potential, strong international partnerships, and a robust environment for scientific collaboration.
