A team from Baku State University (BSU) has won first place at the digital solutions hackathon “Create a Green World! – 2”.
The event was jointly organized by the “Green ASAN” environmental program of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations and the International Dialogue for Environmental Protection Public Union.
The BSU team members—students of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics Tahir Aliyev and Jamil Jafarli, Chemistry Faculty student Aytaj Sadygova, and Ecology and Soil Science Faculty student Nijat Hasanov—presented an innovative mobile platform called “Grove,” designed to encourage daily environmentally responsible behavior.
The “Grove” application offers users daily eco-tasks, allows them to confirm completion through photos, and motivates participation through a system of points and rewards. Beyond being an informational tool, the platform creates an interactive ecosystem that actively engages users in real environmental action. Through the app, users can mark polluted areas on a map, contribute to solving environmental issues, communicate with others, and compete on a leaderboard.
